The People at the Starting Line

The
board.

No organization runs further than the people leading it. Here are the founders and board members who are putting their names, their reputations, and their time on the line.

The one who started running.

Nick Tofteland
Founder & Executive Director

A Maple Grove native, husband, father, and the founder of Dromos. Nick has spent the last decade in sport, wellness, and small business leadership, and the last several years quietly observing the gap between what believers say on Sunday and how they actually lead on Tuesday. Dromos is his attempt to close that gap, in his city, with his own life on the line first.

Before Dromos, Nick built and led training programs across the Northwest Metro, mentored athletes and young entrepreneurs, and walked many men through difficult seasons of life and faith. He holds his work as a vocation, not a career.

"I'm not starting Dromos because I am especially gifted. I am starting Dromos because I cannot in good conscience keep the divided life I see, including my own, and do nothing. The course has been set. I want to finish it. I want to help others finish too."

Six people, each
with a room they're changing.

Each member of the Dromos board carries their own sphere of credible influence: in sport, in business, in church, in ministry. None are figureheads. All are participants.

[Board Member]
Chair · Strategy & Governance

A seasoned executive and church elder. Brings two decades of nonprofit governance experience and a deep commitment to the local church. Anchors the board's commitment to faithfulness for the long haul over short-term wins.

"I want to start this race because I'm tired of watching people I love believe deeply on Sunday and live divided lives the rest of the week. There is a better way to run."
[Board Member]
Treasurer · Finance & Stewardship

CPA and longtime owner of a small business. Holds the line on financial integrity, ensures every dollar entrusted to Dromos is stewarded with the seriousness it deserves.

"Faithful financial stewardship is itself a form of discipleship. I want Dromos to be the kind of organization donors can trust completely, and that means doing the unglamorous work right."
[Board Member]
Secretary · Theology & Doctrine

Pastor and preacher with deep theological training. Keeps Dromos rooted in the historic Christian faith and the authority of Scripture. The doctrinal anchor for everything we teach.

"Formation organizations live or die on what they believe. I'm here to make sure Dromos keeps believing what the Church has always believed, and teaches it without flinching."
[Board Member]
Sport & Athletic Formation

Longtime coach and athletic director. Brings the lived experience of forming young men and women in competition, failure, and identity. Shapes the Basketball Program and broader sport strategy.

"I've spent thirty years on benches and sidelines. The gym is one of the most formative places in a young person's life. I want it to form them in the right direction."
[Board Member]
Business & Entrepreneurship

Founder and operator of multiple companies in the Twin Cities. Brings the perspective of leaders whose daily decisions shape the cultures of their teams, and who want their faith to reach those decisions.

"I built businesses for fifteen years before I let the Gospel actually touch how I built them. I want others to start with what I had to learn the hard way."
[Board Member]
Community & Local Church

Veteran ministry leader with deep relationships across the Northwest Metro churches. Holds Dromos accountable to its commitment to come alongside the local church, never compete with her.

"There are good churches doing good work here. Dromos exists to make them stronger, not to take their people. I'll fight for that line as long as I sit on this board."

Note. Board members listed are placeholders pending confirmation. Real names, photos, and bios will be added as the founding board is finalized. If you would like to learn about board service, please reach out.
